Suspect car abandoned on Southport beach

Police have been called to investigate a suspect car on Southport beach.

The silver saloon was discovered shortly after 7am after commuters driving down the Coast road spotted the car abandoned along the shoreline.

Cars and none fishing vehicles are banned from entering that part of the beach due to the dangerous nature of the mudflats.

a search has now begun for the owner of the vehicle.
