Storm Ernesto set to hit Southport with heavy rain and wind.
The Metoffice are warning that the tail end of tropical storm Ernesto is due to hit Ireland and the North West coast of England from 6:00pm tonight, Saturday 18th August.
Chances are, it will be fading by then, and we will only end up with winds between 15-25 mph and a day of rain on Sunday but…there’s always the chance they may be right.
Storms can generate high demand for the emegency services. Please watch the media for further updates and secure wheely bins, garden furniture etc., anything that can blow into traffic.
Drivers, be cautious on the Formby bypass, Coastal Road/Marine Drive. Especially drivers of high sided vehicles and cyclists/motorcyclists.
