Southport’s YMCA centre is set to reopen this weekend.

The venue closed earlier this year when in January, the owners revealed that they could no longer afford to subsidise the running of the com- munity health and wellbeing services at the Hoghton Street site.

Tom Haworth from Simply Soccer said: “The YMCA in Southport is to reopen with a grand reopening on Saturday, August 5.

sports and coaching com- pany called Simply Soccer and we have been given the opportunity to assist the YMCA in the reopening.

“We are desperate to get the YMCA back and open for everyone in the local community.”
