A town centre hair salon has been praised by thousands of people online for offering free haircuts to the homeless this Christmas.
R&R Hair and beauty bosses say they will open their doors to homeless people and offer them a free trim in the festive spirit.
They are also asking for donations of sleeping bags which they will hand out when people attend the Eastbank Street salon.
A post by the Salon team said: “With homelessness on the rise in Southport, We are offering free haircuts for the homeless. We’ll also be providing them with hot and cold beverages as well laying out some nibbles for them on Monday 14th January 2019.
We will be helping raise awarness and indiviually going out in the evening to speak to the homeless and invite them in for a haircut.
Its proven that a great haircut relieves tension, releases endorphins and serotonin, increases circulation, and improves the look and feel of your hair. Not to mention that it feels really good!
A scalp massage as part of your haircut will not only leave your hair healthier and shinier, but it will leave you feeling healthier and happier, too”
