Southport RFC announce Dublin tour to celebrate 150th anniversary

Rugby stars from Southport are set to descend on Ireland in 2023 as Southport Rugby Football Club mark their 150th Anniversary with a tour to Dublin.

Founded in 1872, Southport RFC is one of the oldest rugby clubs in the world. Their first recorded ground was a large field next to the Alexandra Cricket Club in Manchester Road

The club, which has helped mould a number of regional and National rugby stars both in the men’s and women’s game, is gearing up to celebrate 150 years of rugby and as such are inviting all senior playing members, patrons, and supporters to tour Dublin and conclude celebrations at the end of the sesquicentennial season.

The tour is set to take place from 18th – 22nd May 2023.

The Tour Includes:

  • All coach transfers including ferry crossing.

  • Club Dinner at Lansdown Rugby Club

The club is also set to publish a sticker album featuring every current player and coach, as well as a nostalgic section from the past that celebrates the club’s history.
