Southport man assaulted security guard following whisky theft

Adam John Scott Southport of Hampton Road, Southport assaulted a security guard after attempting to steal whisky is facing a jail sentence.

Magistrates Court heard that he took two bottles of Jack Daniels off the shelf and headed for the exit at the Asda, on Derby Road in Southport, at 1am on August 2017.

Scott, 27 pleaded guilty to assault and two charges of theft at on Tuesday, September 5, where he appeared via video link from Walton prison.

Scott was remanded to remain in custody until September 14 2017.
