Southport Conservatives want your support TODAY!

13th April 2019

Your hardworking Southport Conservative team are asking for your support and they also need volunteers. Can you spare a few hours to deliver leaflets or help them in other ways?

Is your child in need of home education?

Southport MP Damien Moore has recently been campaigning hard for Southport parents. This is a letter from the Secretary of State to Damien about educating children at home.

Mr Moore said on his Facebook page.

“I’m delighted the government is taking action to ensure that all children in the UK get the education they deserve, and are increasing support for families who choose to educate their children at home – such as helping pay for exam costs.”

You can be prosecuted if you don’t give your child an education.

You’ll normally get warnings and offers of help from the local council first.

Holidays in term time

You have to get permission from the head teacher if you want to take your child out of school during term time.
You can only do this if:

• you make an application to the head teacher in advance (as a parent the child normally lives with)
• there are exceptional circumstances

It’s up to the head teacher how many days your child can be away from school if leave is granted.

Private school benefits – the best for your child?

Some one-sided political parties may rage against private education claiming that it is elitist or against equality. However, they conveniently fail to tell you that both Tony Blair and Jeremy Corbyn had a private education.

Moreover, according to a government committee, children who attend private schools are still much more likely to get into certain worthwhile professions. This, of course, will lead to a better lifestyle later on.

Numerous loving parents believe that their child will get a better education at a private school and rightly or wrongly they believe that makes it practical to pay the annual fees.
Are you giving your child the best start?

More disabled people in work

Conservative policies have ensured the many more disabled people are now in work and feeling the benefits on all levels.

Above: the PM recently congratulated Damien Moore for his hard work for Hillside Train Station access.

Help the Conservatives in your area to make a better Southport and a greater Britain today.

You know it makes sense!
