A smart doorbell has caught a suspicious man in Ainsdale trying to enter homes.

The man, wearing a flat cap and styling a goatee was caught on a smart doorbell camera as he allegedly tried to open the door to a property in Ainsdale near to Station Road.

The man was caught on a covert doorbell camera and then tried to rip it from its fixtures unsuccessfully before fleeing the scene.

The terrified homeowner received a notification about the incident to her phone and a picture of the man was then shared online.

She hopes the man can be identified so he can explain his actions.

She says she would love to know why he was acting suspiciously around her street and trying to pull her Ring or Simplisafe doorbell off.
