Southport boozers are being targeted in a new anti- drowning campaign.

The Don’t Drink and Drown campaign from the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK), hopes to save lives this festive season.

Revellers in Southport have been classified as ‘high risk’ for drowning whilst under the influence of alcohol and are being warned to act responsibly near water during their night out.

As part of the national Don’t Drink and Drown campaign, run by the UK’s drowning prevention charity, revellers are being urged not to walk home near expanses of water after they have been drinking.
