A group of young girls are being hunted by police after trying to break into a Southport supermarket.

The teenagers, who didn’t attempt to cover their faces during the incident, were caught on video ramraiding the locked doors of Morrisons Supermarket on Sunday evening.

The incident happened after the shop had closed for the day.

Footage filmed by staff has now been shared online to shock and amazement.

Videos show the girls trying to force their way into the supermarket by bashing down the front door with a trolley.

They are unsuccessful in their attempts but made no effort to flee from staff when confronted.

Anyone who can identify the girls involved are asked to call 101.
