Police close of petrol station after car explosion

Police have closed off Tesco Express on Lord Street after a car reportedly exploded near to the petrol pumps.

Forensic investigators have sealed off the forecourt of the Petrol station after a silver taxi was set alight in alleged suspicious circumstances.

Officers have closed off the petrol station and are carrying out analysis on the car at the scene.

Quick thinking staff cut off petrol flow as soon as the incident occurred with people reporting they heard the bang around 10:50 am this morning.

An investigation is ongoing.
