Police close off Marine Lake bridge after ‘body found’

Emergency services have been called to the Marine Lake Bridge this morning after reports of a body being discovered.

Police, fire and ambulance services closed off the bridge near to the former Genting Casino just after 9am.

It’s believed a member of the public discovered a deceased person under the bridge.

It’s not yet been confirmed how the person died.

Merseyside Police have closed off the Bridge while an investigation is carried out.

A statement from detectives is expected later today.
