Police close off Hesketh Park after reports of body discovery

A body has been discovered by a dog walker in a freezing cold park this morning

OTS understands that police are carrying out an investigation into the shocking discovery after a dog walker called 999 shortly after 7pm.

Both police and fire crews were called to the park just off Park Crescent and have now cordoned off a small section of Hesketh Park.

Early morning joggers and other dog walkers have now been told to stay away until the investigation is complete.

Police are expected to make a formal statement shortly.
