Sefton Council Coast and Countryside staff are urging dog walkers and beach goers along the Sefton coast to keep reporting any discoveries of potentially harmful palm oil.
There appears to be less palm oil debris washing ashore but it is still present.
Teams from Sefton Council Coast and Countryside team, along with its partners have been collecting the material for the last few weeks after it began washing up in volume.
A spokesman for the Sefton Coast Landscape Partnership said: “Palm oil debris is harmless to humans, but it can be fatal to dogs if eaten.
“Unfortunately dogs are attracted to the smell of the stuff, so pet owners are advised to remain vigilant if walking your dog on the coast, especially around tidelines.
“Approximately 20 tons of palm oil debris have already been removed from the coastline so far, and it is being treated as an ongoing issue by coastline managers.”
