However, Wirral based candlemakers ‘Owen Drew Luxury Candles’ offered to ’scent’ the studios to add to the whole magical experience. This has led on to Yaffe Photography now becoming an official stockist of the Owen Drew brand.
Owen Drew Luxury candles are fast becoming the nation’s most loved candle maker, along with their delightful wax melts, indulgent room fragrance spray and their exclusive new eau de parfum. After visiting the famous studios based in Southport town centre, the directors at Owen Drew created a list of perfect scents to match the beautiful and relaxing studio atmosphere that awaits customers for their photoshoots.
Sandra Carney, who has been part of the Yaffe company for over 25 years, said, “The moment I first smelt Owen Drew candles, I was mesmerised by the gorgeous aroma. Not only do these candles smell divine, they last ages and the scent reaches every part of the room. Unlike most of the ones you get in high street stores, these candles smell as good as they do out of the box as they do on their last day of use. My house is now smelling even more amazing too and to top it off, they have now produced a gorgeous perfume that has become my new favourite that I wear every day!”
We asked Owen Drew Luxury Candles what makes their candles so special. Managing director Drew Cockton says, “For years I had bought candles in the supermarket or other discounted outlets and finally began to realise after my brilliant white kitchen turned grey, that the candles were giving off smoke and soot which was collecting on the walls and ceilings of my home” Drew explained. “I did some research and discovered that it was because mass-produced candles are made from petroleum-based paraffin wax. Not only that, they are often heavily dyed and fragranced with synthetic scents containing parabens and toxins”.
“I started making my own candles from only natural products. I sourced vegan, soy wax and began blending it with essential oils to create my own fragranced candles. I didn’t use any colouring or dyes because soy wax is naturally a beautiful creamy colour. I wanted to make my candles stand out from the crowd, so used a natural wooden wick. They crackle when they burn, which my customers love!”
Yaffe Photography owner Adam Yaffe, along with Sandra, decided they wanted everyone to be able to continue their fragrance experience after they left the studios and so decided to become official stockists of the Owen Drew brand, making the candles, room spray, wax melts and the perfume available to buy.
