Ongoing abuse is beyond a Joke for Hampton road homeowners
Angry Hampton road residents say they are being plagued by anti social and havoc causing children from a nearby youth home.
Police have been called on a number of occasions after rocks were thrown, families abused and windows smashed on the roads surrounding this area.
One concerned resident said: “Last night (Wednesday 25th January) at approximately 8:20pm there was 4 youths stood outside the care home holding what looked like boxes of eggs. Seconds later the youths started throwing the eggs at the surrounding houses, windows and cars.
“I couldn’t see any presence of the care staff, leaving the egging victims to have to deal with the situation themselves.
“Once the youths were confronted and asked why they are throwing eggs, they started shouting and surrounding the distressed neighbours. At this point around 4/5 more youths on bikes appeared and also began shouting and making threats.
“The police arrived a short while later after the youths had ran away and thrown more eggs at the houses and neighbours stood in the street.
“According to sources, police told the neighbours that they had one of the youths in custody and “he would be locked up for the night”. 10 minutes later… the youth was brought home in a riot van and escorted back into the home.
“As a community the neighbours of Hampton road are fed up and feeling anxious that another, more serious incident will happen again very soon.”
