Mystery pile driver appearance sparks eco fears on sand dunes

12th February 2020

Dog walkers and beach lovers were shocked this morning after a massive pile driver turned up at Ainsdale Nature Reserve.

The 20ft behemoth is thought to have been called in to help redistribute a build up of sand dunes following major storm damage from Storm Ciara and Dennis

Contractors arrived in the early hours of this morning working for Freedom Major technical engineering and set up site at the entrance to Ainsdale beach.

Sefton Council declined to comment when approached by OTS News on the nature of the works.
