Police are hunting a hit and run driver who lost control and destroyed a post box on the Promenade in the early hours of this morning, Friday 12 July 2019.
The post box, which has stood at the junction of Albany Road and the Promenade for decades was destroyed last night after a car collided with it at speed.
The driver managed to flee the scene and no trace of the car has been found.
Officers suspect the damage is so sever the driver will have been injured and are canvassing the hospital and doctors surgeries for suspects.
