Much loved Southport MP candidate to step down

Defeated Southport MP candidate Sue McGuire has announced that she will be ‘seeking new challenges’ and is to step down from politics in May.

The Cambridge Ward councillor has spent 12 years in the role including a recent two-year stint as Leader of the Lib Dems on Sefton Council and stood in last year’s General Election, coming third behind current MP Damien Moore and Labour candidate Liz Savage.
