Stunned shoppers at Morrisons say they won’t return to the store after others flouted social distancing measures, describing it as ‘hellish’

Store bosses are making people queue outside but once shoppers enter there is a free for all style rampage with many people being too scared to continue their shopping for fear of coming in close contact with someone else.

One shopper said she complained to the manager and asked for clearer signage and floor markings but was ignored.

The customer said:

“Morrison’s have no social distancing markers in store they appear to have a lot of customers in at one time or though they assure me they have the correct amount at a time.

Coronavirus and Social Distancing

“I tried to suggest methods such as arrows and areas to encourage social distancing and was met with this reply from the cafe manager and also the store manager.

“We are not enforcing social distancing“ doesn’t even sound like they are encouraging social distancing I am afraid the attitude of these 2 “managers “ means I will no longer shop there and will encourage others to avoid the store I do admit that I was rude to the cafe manager but his attitude was equally poor and I did swear at him as I left the store I was angry that they didnt seem to care what I was saying which was out of concern for fellow shoppers some of them who were elderly.

“I was told not to go back to the store and to go away.

I also have since heard a colleague also wasn’t happy in the store and an older lady also commented that the store and some of its managers leave a lot to be desired and are often unhelpful.

“Please note this was not the usual store manager who is very helpful and approachable!

I am sure the intentions of Morrison’s is not to dissuade shoppers but they really need to look at their managers and their customer service I am very disappointed with”
