Miss Southport sets her sights on charity

16th June 2018

Miss Southport has revealed the four charities that she will be working hard to raise funds for during her year in the role.

Politics Master’s degree student Jennifer Amy Leigh, who was crowned in the role last month, is also set to travel to Kelham Hall in Nottinghamshire to battle it out against 69 contestants from across the country at the Miss England semi-final on July 3.

The 24-year-old revealed that taking part in the competitions “boosted her confidence and re-ignited her passion for fundraising” and that she has now chosen three charities close to her heart.

She has chosen the Trussell Trust’s Southport Foodbank, which supports struggling families every week; the national charity, the Motor Neurone Disease Association and the British Dyslexia Association. She will also raise funds for the Miss World Charity, called Beauty with a Purpose, which helps disadvantaged children around the world.
