Milo receives Sefton4Good Status

11th December 2018

Milosz Chojnacki (locally known as Milo to friends and colleagues), was recently awarded Sefton4good status at the Southport Town Hall in view of all his work to support multiple worthy causes across the local community. Having lived in England for 10 years now since the age of 10 himself, Milosz has continued to give his time and commitment to other people of all ages and backgrounds on a regular basis be this individuals or particular community groups across the seaside town.

Citizens 4 Good aims to pay tribute to local people whose kindness, support and good deeds improve the lives of their fellow borough residents.

Nominations can be made by anyone who thinks a particular persondeserves to be recognised, including friends, neighbours, work colleagues, schools, community organisations and the Local Authority.

Community campaigner Mr David Barton, a prominent advocate forSouthport said:

Milo is truly an integral part of our local society who continues to amaze and astound others with his ongoing compassion and commitment to our local community. He is a true role model for others across our Borough and it is my pleasure to have been able to put forward the youngest candidate for this select community award to date. May his hard work inspire others to perform a good deed no matter the scale.

Milo has indeed partaken in a whole plethora of social inclusion activities to better the lives of others. Some of these have included aiding other European members of society, be they friends oracquaintances, with being able to read and understand everyday essential documentation such as various types of working documentsin addition to progressing their English speaking skills.

Milo has also engaged in plentiful and consistent voluntary work, especially so for the last 5 years since he was 15 years old assisting those less mobile whilst and after being involved in competitive professional UK Motor Bike Off Road Racing. This has entailed visiting and undertaking voluntary work such as everyday chores for disabled friends ranging from cutting wood for log fires and helping around the house.

In return Milo has been able to develop new found life skills whilst providing companionship to those more experienced members of the Community. Whether it be visiting these same people for Christmas dinner or staying in touch on a weekly basis, Milo has always and continues to demonstrate a genuine community warmth for helping those in need in our society.

Milo has also participated in an ongoing religious Youth Guidance Scheme at his local Church designed to support other like-minded individuals which has enabled him to develop further understanding of the local area and its customs.

As someone who originally met Milo in my capacity as a local Councillor assisting a resident, it is a pleasure to note how proactive this individual has and continues to be in helping to selflessly forge a better life for others, whilst undertaking a busy life not only studying, but also working themselves.
