Marshside Co Op closed after burglary raid

Shoppers have been turned away from the Co-Op supermarket in Marshside this morning by police.

A sign on the door says the building will be closed until further notice and a police cordon has been set up.

Forensic units are on site and are carrying out an investigation after the store was targeted by thieves shortly before midnight.

CCTV footage shows three or four males arrive in what is believed to be a silver car and forced entry to the store.

Money has been stolen and in the process, damage has been caused to tills and systems.

The store is likely to remain closed for some time today, while investigations are completed and repairs are made.

We are appealing for anyone in the Fylde Road area who ma have seen a silver car, possibly a Ford Fiesta between 11:00pm and 11:30pm last night. Do you have CCTV or dash cam footage which may have picked up this car?
