Macmillan’s fundraising artists showcase at Wayfarers Arcade, Southport

Macmillan’s regular fundraising artists who hail from all over Sefton and West Lancashire  will be joined by artists from the London and Glasgow art scenes for their exhibition at Wayfarers Arcade on Lord Street in Southport this coming September. Having occupied vacant units for its charity exhibitions on numerous occasions, Art For Macmillan has showcased  local creative talent of varied styles and media and has also contributed to the  regeneration of redundant areas of the Town’s business locality.

Featured artists  include:  Sefton based watercolour master John West;  perception challenging symmetrical artist, Daniel Adler; tonal visual narrator and digital artist, Chris Oliver; stylish watercolour composer, Irene Wilson and local scenes artist Anton Dolders. This year, their exhibition will also include paintings created by nationally and internationally acclaimed artist Galswegian artist Bob Jessamine who’s thought provoking work pertains to both picturesque and abstract genres. London based artists Sue Dunlop and Tim Feltham will also be taking part and there will be painting demonstrations by Daniel Adler, Anton Dolders and John West throughout the exhibition.

Art For Macmillan Director, Anton Dolders said: “We are once again putting an empty commercial property to superlative use by displaying and demonstrating creative skill which will  fund care for those in desperate need of it through our chosen cause, Macmillan Cancer Support.  The exhibition organisors are thankful to all our supporters especially Wayfarers management for their generosity in allowing us to use a premises in such prestigious and lavish surroundings and to all our local business patrons for their support over the years. There will be a great selection of cards and prints available at the exhibition which is guaranteed to satisfy the local community’s creative requirements”.  Art For Macmillan’s fundraising exhibitions have so far raised £9988 to help provide care and counselling for those whose lives have been affected by a terrible illness and for their families.
