Lord Street sports bar shuts ‘permanently’ after string of closures

3rd October 2022

A sports bar on Lord Street has closed for the final time after shutting temporarily for extended periods over the last two years.

Owners of the Potting Shed announced this morning that the sports bar and adjoining FIREPIT restaurant had ‘closed permanently.’

The bar had been forced to close during Covid but confused patrons were left frustrated when it failed to join other eateries in reopening immediately following the pandemic.

The building remained closed for a number of months before reopening in late 2021.

Now bosses have announced that staff are now out of a job with a decision being made to shut the bar permanently.

Concept bar specialists Ormsborough Ltd, which already owns and operates five Potting Sheds and two FIREPITs in Yorkshire, took over the building in 2017 after the Sandgrounder pub closed.
