Locals raise £7,400 St Joseph’s

28th November 2018

Friends of St Joseph’s were delighted to be given a boost of more than £7,400 which was raised by customers from a local supermarket.

Ainsdale’s Co-Op manager Richard Henderson presented a cheque for £7,414 to chairman Mike Miller and the Friends of St Joseph’s committee last week. The group provides support for St Joseph’s Adult Services on Blundell Avenue in Formby and plan to use the funds towards a new wheelchair-accessible minibus.

The Friends of St Joseph’s Committee was one of three groups chosen to benefit from the Co-op Local Community Fund scheme. Under the annual scheme, members of the Co-op who live within a 15-mile radius of the club were be able to raise funds for the group by swiping their membership cards whenever they shop at their local store buying Co-Op branded stock.
