KGV STUDENTS WIN PLACES AT SEFTON OPEN EXHIBITION

A-Level Art and Design Students at King George V College have won a local competition to attain places in the Sefton Open Exhibition.  Sponsored by the Decorative and Fine Art Society (NADFAS), the Sefton Open Exhibition features work from local schools and colleges.

Winners Bethany Payet, Grace Benneworth, and Ellie Halfpenny will have their work exhibited at the Atkinson Gallery until 23rd December, alongside runners up Olivia Kenyon and Morgan Messenger.

Suzanne Knowles, Course Leader for Art and Design at KGV, said, “This was a great opportunity to work, once again, with the Atkinson Gallery, ensuring the students’ high calibre work can be appreciated by our local community.”

All winners were invited to receive their prize, of £50 worth of art supply vouchers, at the launch of the exhibition on Saturday 28th November.

Grace Benneworth, a second year advanced level student studying Fine Art, Textiles and English Language, said of her win in the Textiles category, “I feel proud to be able to highlight the hard work of our Art department and everyone involved in it.”
