Iconic railway entrance torn down to make way for new look attraction

1st July 2019

Work has finally begun on an improvement project by Pleasureland boss Norman Wallis to transform the Lakeside Minature Railway.

Mr Wallis has tonight overseen contractors tearing down the iconic pier side entrance to the railway, although the original Victorian style entrance was replaced a number of years ago.

The torn down building will now be transformed as part of Norman’s plan to rejuvenate the railway and bring it into the 21st century.

Onlookers watched with interest as diggers went to town on the building, which took just a few hours to raise completely to the ground.

More maintenance and ground works are expected to take place in the coming months.
