Detectives are appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision in Southport where a man was left unconscious after the driver of a car drove off after the incident.

Between 2 – 3pm on Friday 22 September we received a report that a white BMW was involved in a collision with a pedestrian on Lord Street near Barclays Bank in Southport.

The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, sustained a broken leg and was left unconscious after the collision.

The driver of the BMW didn’t stop at the scene and officers are continuing to investigate this incident to locate the vehicle and motorist.

“The man who was involved in the collision was reported to have been crossing the road when this incident occurred, therefore we are appealing to anyone who saw this or the car involved to please contact us.
