Over 300 people have already registered to take part in Southport’s first ever Colour Blast in aid of Galloway’s Society for the Blind. The event will see participants run, walk, skip and dance around the 5km course as they are showered with clouds of coloured powder – creating spectacular rainbow results!.

The fundraising team at Galloway’s are in the final stages of planning what is set to be Southport’s brightest fundraiser to date!

Anna Eddowes-Scott, Community Fundraiser for Galloways reported:‘Registration places for the Colour Blast are filling up fast.  We are delighted with the response from the local community to this new family fun event.  The local business community have also really got behind our fundraising efforts as well and we are delighted to announce that JK from Sandgrounder Radio will be broadcasting live from the event!”

‘We would encourage anyone who is wanting to take part in this event to register beforehand to avoid disappointment.  All of the money raised by the Colour Blast will continue to help Galloway’s make sure that nobody in the Sefton area has to face sight loss alone or without the right support.  Not only will our participants have a great day out, but they’ll also be helping blind people living in the local area.’

The Galloway’s Colour Blast will be held on Sunday 10th July, at Princes Park, starting at 11am. Tickets are available now:

Adult (Over 16) £20

Child (6 to 16)  £10

To book your place visit: www.gallowayscolourblast.eventbrite.co.uk  Online sign-ups are available until midnight on Thursday. On the day registration will be open from 9am on the Sunday.

For people who don’t want to take part in the Colour Blast itself, but still would like to be involved, Galloway’s are also looking for volunteers to marshal the route and cover runners in the colourful powder paint as they pass by!
