Home safety warning issued after would-be burglar strikes

An as yet unapprehended burglar has sparked panic in the community around the Crossens area of Southport.

Failure to catch a burglar in the Crossens area has prompted calls for residents to ‘be careful’ as the suspect could strike again.

The attempted burglar broke the back door of a property on Harrogate Way before fleeing on foot when confronted in the back garden late Sunday night.

Police attended the scene and enquiries are ongoing.

Warnings are being shared on social media as people are urged to lock doors and windows at night and secure their belongings.
