Hesketh Park horror as bleach is poured down children’s slide

Parents taking their children to Hesketh Park in Southport this morning were horrified to find discarded bottles of bleach near the children’s slide.

One mum was terrified and refused to let her young son play on the slide in case someone had covered the metal with the corrosive liquid.

She told OTS “I can’t work out why the bleach would be there but the bottle was clearly empty and it had been used. I could smell bleach in the air so I don’t know what someone had been doing but if they put it on the slide to burn children that makes them sick individuals.

I can’t believe anyone would do that. People should stay away from the park”

Anyone with any information should call Merseyside Police or speak to a park warden
