21st September 2022

Rusted and harmful razor blades have been dumped in parks around Southport.

The motive for the dangerous blades being left hidden in park grass are as yet unknown but worried dog owners have already reported their pets getting injured as a result.

In one scary incident a dog owner walking their pet on Portland Field was horrified to find his beloved dog had stepped on a rusted razor blade.

The discovery has led other dog owners and professional walkers to completely avoid the fields.

Similar incidents have been reported on Devonshire Road fields and in Hesketh Park.

The motive for sudden appearance of these sharp and harmful objects is unknown and while there is no evidence to suggest this is a deliberate act, dog walkers are being advised to remain vigilant.
