A Southport woman is celebrating this week after joining the exclusive centenarian club.
Betty Loxton was joined by her loving family and friends at a special socially distanced 100th birthday celebration this week at Lyndale Nursing Home.
Staff put on a special celebration for Betty, a former wartime operator and tireless post office worker, after she reached the exclusive milestone on Friday.
A smiling Betty was pictured celebrating with a delicious cake before being showered with gifts from her friends, family and neighbours.
Betty has lived in the Southport and Formby area of the North West all her life and during World War II cycled nearly 40 miles a day for her round trip job working as an operator in war-ravaged Liverpool.
On The Spot News would like to wish Betty a very happy 100th birthday and invites all readers to share their well wishes also to the Centenarian.
