Gardeners heartbroken at Green Flag loss

Green fingered garden lovers in Southport have reacted with fury after it was revealed the council has lost a number of coveted Green Flag Awards after council chiefs chose not to apply for them. From August 2019, the borough will no longer be allowed to fly the flag at several prominent sites in and around the town, including Hesketh Park, the Botanic Gardens and Southport Crematorium.
