Garden group thieves have a blooming cheek

Green fingered thieves have targeted the Friends of Rotten Row group making off with hundreds of pounds worth of specialist heating equipment that helps the horticultural group to keep maintaining Rotten Row. The police are now investigating.

A spokesperson for the Friends of Rotten Row group in Southport said: “We were subject to a break in, in our poly tunnel along Rotten Row. Thieves slashed open the poly tunnel and stole our LPG industrial heater.

This heater was a boon to us during the winter months when we work in the tunnel to keep us warm.

What good this will do the thieves I do not know as it require mains power to ignite the system and would not be worth very much.

It is a bright orange in colour so if anybody is approached if they would like to purchase one, and they are suspicious, please inform the police. The police have been informed of the theft.”
