Former Southport FC footballer Paddy Lacey jailed after being caught with Class A drugs and fake money at Glastonbury

Ex-Southport FC footballer has been jailed for possession of Class A drugs and fake money.

Paddy Lacey, 24 was arrested on the second day of the Glastonbury festival in June 2017.

Paddy Lacey had been sacked by League Two side Accrington Stanley, who a managed by former Southport FC manager John Coleman, a month earlier after testing positive for cocaine.

Paddy Lacey spent a short period on loan with the Southport FC in 2011

Paddy Lacey was found with 20.3 grams of cocaine, 16.8 grams of MDMA, and £520 in counterfeit £20 notes.

Paddy Lacey pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing a controlled substance, and passing as genuine an item which he knew to be a counterfeit.

Paddy Lacey from Crosby, was sentenced to 16 months in prison at Bristol Crown Court, on July 21, having earlier pleaded guilty at Bath Magistrates.
