Flower thieves shock Hesketh Park visitors

7th March 2019

Flower thieves are destroying a Southport park according to a frustrated dog walker.
Joanne Hall was horrified to see members of the public stealing wild daffodils from Hesketh Park.

She was enjoying a trip to the park when she spotted a family with bundles of freshly- picked flowers in their arms, making their way to their car.

A ‘disgusted’ Joanne said: “The park was full of people enjoying the early sunshine and mild temperature.

“I saw two ladies taking photographs of the spring crocuses, snowdrops and daffodils that were growing on the grassy banks. Dogs were being walked and babies pushed in prams with their parents and grandparents.

“Then as I left the park, my feel- good feeling was deflated as a family passed me with arms full of daffodils that they had picked out of the park!
“I was astounded as they walked past me and loaded their pile of stolen flowers into a large 2017 vehicle completely oblivi- ous to their selfish behaviour!
