Fire crews have been called to the coastal road between Southport and Ainsdale this evening after arsonists set fire the the sand dunes, Saturday 18 April.
The coast guard and fire crews rushed to scrubland on Ainsdale nature reserve after the dunes caught fire in what is believed to have been a deliberate act.
An investigation into the fire is now underway and anyone with any information is asked to call 101.
