Everyone over 50 can now book a coronavirus vaccine

17th March 2021

All adults over the age of 50 are now able to book a coronavirus vaccine.

You can book a coronavirus vaccine, if you have not been offered one already, by visiting https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/

Two million text messages will be sent with a link to booking. Those unable to book online can call 119.

Age group 50-54 is the final group on the government’s priority list.

New cases in Southport have dropped significantly in recent weeks but still remain much higher than the lowest rates seen over Summer.

The priority order of vaccinations for phase two will be:

• Everyone aged between 40 and 49
• Everyone aged between 30 and 39
• Everyone aged between 18 and 29

The government aims to offer a vaccine to everyone in England over the age of 18 by 31 July.

Around 25 million people have received their first coronavirus dose in England, with 1.6 million having received their second dose.
