Entrepreneur Tracey Bell celebrates her Dental Law & Ethics Graduation

    By 5th August 2015

In her youth, Tracey Bell, who recently opened her Birkdale clinic on Liverpool Road, funded her studies for her degree in Dentistry by working as a taxi driver. Fast forward a decade or so and Tracey has established a reputation as a leading dentist with five thriving clinics and her own skincare line.

With an established business, many entrepreneurs might be tempted to finally take a hard-earned break. However, Tracey has never lost her craving for knowledge and formidable work ethic. Therefore, rather than slowing down, she’s continued to build her business while studying for a PgCert in Dental Law and Ethics at Bedfordshire. This is the only university accredited course in Law and Ethics specifically for dental professionals.

This innovative course has been designed specifically for dental care professionals, working in a range of dental care contexts. The course provides unique opportunities to critically examine dental care from relevant ethical, legal and professional standpoints

Tracey said: “The course I’ve completed had been designed to develop the skills and practices of dental care professionals with an interest in legal and ethical dental practice. This is an area of study I have a keen interest in and I think it’s really important for dentists to stay curious and never stop learning.”

Tracey’s PgCert in Dental Law and Ethics covered areas such as: Consent, ethical values and principles and the impact of culture on ethics. These are key concerns of Tracey’s and when she graduated, she took the opportunity to say a special thank you to her patients, explaining: “Gaining this qualification has made me and the team care even more about you. Learning is always important and life is short and always there for the taking. I’d encourage everyone to follow their dreams and keep on studying for as long as you can. I’m very glad that I have and am grateful to my partner, family, team and patients, all of whom have supported me every step of the way.”

Tracey will continue her education with her studies for her Masters Degree this year.
