Dog walker barking mad after fine threat

A loving dog owner has been left barking mad after nearly being fined for walking her pet off the leash.

Julie Rynhart was walking her dog off it’s lead by the Ramada Hotel this afternoon when a dog warden claimed she was in one of Sefton Council’s supposed ‘On Lead’ at all times zones when she wasnt.

An aggrieved Julie said: “I argued the signs were not visible. Warden pointed to a small poster stuck to a lamppost about 12ft high & pointed to another that wasn’t even there!”

“She asked for my ID which I refused to give. She advised me that unless I gave my details she would have to inform the police. I refused!! She radioed for back up and gave in my description. All this was very intimidating to say the least.

“Then on her radio a voice announced I was able to walk my dog in this area off lead. The warden was to apologise and send me on my way which she did! I was shocked, emotionally wreaked and so angry that Sefton Council couldn’t put the signs up in the correct place!”
