Deep fat fryer fire causes Tesco evacuation
A FIRE in a deep fat fryer caused Tesco in Town Lane, Southport to be evacuated this morning (Sunday 19 February 2017).
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at about 9am after a fire broke out in the cafe situated on the first floor.
Firefighters ensured the fire was out and staff and customers were allowed back in at around 9.40am.
Staff told our reporter that the cafe will be closed for most of the morning.
