Southport MP discusses loneliness and supported accommodation during visit to Hatherlow House and Connell Court

10th November 2017

Damien Moore has today visited two MHA housing schemes in Southport to speak with management, social care staff, and residents about loneliness and supported accommodation.

MHA, a charity providing care, accommodation, and support services for more than 17,000 older people throughout Britain, and employ 7,000 staff and 5,500 volunteers, aims to provide more quality housing, care and support services to meet the needs of elder people across the country.

During his visit to both Hatherlow House and Connell Court, Damien spoke about the campaign to prevent loneliness and welcomed MHAs high-quality supported accommodation scheme before speaking with residents about both local and national issues.

Commenting, Damien said: “It is important that we encourage a range of organisations to flourish in Southport to meet the demand for supported housing schemes, particularly with an ever-growing older population. We need more high-quality supported housing and I welcome the efforts of MHA to fill that void. I will continue to work with them to support constituents moving forward and to address any housing issues their residents may have.”
