D-Fest Festival new venue SOUTHPORT PLEASURELAND – Sunday 30 September

A special festival to raise funds for people and youngsters with learning disabilities is about to launch across Southport and West Lancashire.

DFest is a brand new festival initiative by the Learning Rooms Birkdale.

Learning Rooms Director Ruth Wareing told OTS News “The festival will enable clients to access the music festival environment as you or I would, in a safe and supported environment. Giving them the independence and freedom to relax and have a good time.

This is first of what we hope will become an annual event and grow from strength to strength. There will be 500 tickets available for sale in this our first year.

Norman Wallis, Managing Director comments: “When I heard that the event had been postponed due to impending bad weather, but was now struggling to find a venue, I was only too pleased to be able to provide the use of our purpose built outdoor arena to host the event. Social inclusion for everyone is high in our agenda here at Southport Pleasureland and it’s great to be able to partner with Ruth Wareing and her team at The Learning Rooms to ensure that this amazing event is kept alive and allowed to thrive.”
