Cold Callers
Two men called at a property in the Crossens area of Southport offering to trim and prune trees in the back garden of a resident’s house and quoted an extremely good price for the job.
The work was completed to a reasonable standard. The more senior of the two was extremely polite, friendly and knowledgeable. However after they had departed the lady of the house found her purse, money and cards had been taken and it was later discovered that a garden sundial was missing. The resident was left to clear away a lot of rubbish that had been left behind.
The two men drove away in a small grey Citroen van.
Please be aware if any cold caller offers to prune or trim trees. Obviously at this time of the year people are anxious to tidy their gardens before the winter. Most people are genuine but unfortunately some are not.
