Residents of flood risk areas of Southport say greed continues to be put before safety as more flood warnings are issued for the area

In particular a Rotten Row and the Town Lane areas of Southport are so at risk of flooding, surveys say they could be totally underwater in 100 years.

One resident said “Town Lane has been flooding for years but now it’s much worse, ever since developers decided to take the area and develop it.

“All summer, it has been flooded and now its’ autumn and it is raining more, it’s a proper mess.

Whose idea was it to build on this area, when it was a flooded field for years and years?

“As usual, greed has been put above common sense!”
