Traffic is backing up on the Coast Road after two cars smashed into each other head on earlier this evening. Police have closed off the northbound carriageway of the Coast Road after two cars were involved In a head on collision between Weld Road and the Pontins roundabout around 7pm.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and fire crews were called to cut out one of the drivers, however by the time they arrived the occupants of both cars had managed to leave their vehicles.
None are thought to have suffered serious injuries but have been treated at the scene by paramedics for shock as well as cuts and bruises.
