Coastal road closed after 6 car smash

Police have closed off part of the coast road after a car smash in Ainsdale.

Officers have closed off the stretch of coastal road between Pontins and Liverpool Road following a serious collision shortly after 12pm this afternoon.

It’s believed high winds and heavy rain contributed to the collision thought to involve six cars.

Emergency services remain on scene and are asking motorists to avoid the area.
