City Look on Lord Street to close

16th November 2015

City Look on Lord Street will close for the final time at the end of the month.

City Look also has a mens outlet on Chapel street which will remain open.

Staff in the store told otsnews: “The rates on the Lord Street are far to high and customers shopping habits have changed, we just can’t compete with the online market”

Other businesses that have closed down along Lord Street recently include:

Despite more bad news for the Lord Street Andrew Sloman(BID manager) said: “For the first time in several years there has been a net gain in new businesses opening and an annual increase of 3% in footfall; the national footfall rate continues to fall and the North of England average is in steep decline at -2.5%”.
